5-Player Pickleball Rotation: Everyone Rests Once

An extra friend does not need to sit out the whole session. With five players, one person rests in each round while the other four play doubles.

Use the 5-player rotation quick start after adding five nicknames. Five rounds give every player four games and one rest. The resting player changes each round; reshuffling can change the order and partnerships.

Good for: A casual group of five sharing a single court. Agree whether a round ends after a game or a time limit before you start.

The example opens read-only and does not replace your saved session.

10 different partnerships occur in this example. Repeated partnerships count a pair each time it plays together after its first game. Each such repeat is also counted for both people in the player totals.

These fictional nicknames illustrate the actual planner output. Each court has four different players, and nobody appears twice in a round. The rest bench completes the roster.

How to use this with your group

Replace the fictional names with your group’s nicknames in the planner and use the player, court and round counts above. Agree whether each round is a game or a time slot. Print or export before play, or share a snapshot. Optional final scores are separate from scheduling.

Changing the crew or number of rounds changes what is possible. This example describes this complete preset, not a guarantee for every group. Read about fairness and limitations.

If someone arrives late or leaves, mark only the rounds you actually played, then update availability. Completed matches and scores stay put while future rounds are rebuilt.
